Biysk's newest trams undergo testing before June passenger launch
Biysk has begun testing its newest trams ahead of their public debut. Experts from BiyskGorTrans recently conducted the first technical run on a 71-619 KT model. The city plans to introduce two of these trams for passenger use by the end of June. The test run checked the tram’s safety across all city transport routes and infrastructure. Designed as high-floor models, the new trams can carry up to 100 passengers each. They also feature four doors to speed up boarding.
Eighteen additional trams are now in the final stages of preparation. Technicians are making adjustments and completing refurbishments before these vehicles join the fleet. Two trams will start serving passengers before July. The remaining eighteen will follow once all technical and safety checks are complete. The upgrades aim to improve capacity and efficiency on Biysk’s tram network.
