Work on Mexicable Line 3 is progressing steadily, with 71% of the overall construction now complete. The new cable car route will connect Mexipuerto to Izcalli Chamapa and feature 11 stations plus a terminal. Operations are set to begin by late 2026. Construction on the line started in mid-2024. So far, 80% of the poles have been installed. Station 8 is nearly finished, but work on Station 2 in Naucalpan has not yet started due to operational considerations.
A new station in Alce Blanco was added to the original plan to address high ridership demand. This addition will improve passenger safety by shortening walking distances. However, a new tender is now required to include the station in the project. The line will serve a growing number of commuters once operational. The added station in Alce Blanco aims to enhance accessibility and efficiency. Authorities continue to push for completion by the end of 2026.
