Vladivostok Airport Sees Record Passenger Growth in Early 2026
Vladivostok International Airport saw a busy start to 2026, handling 1.272 million passengers between January and May. This marks a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2025, with growth driven by both domestic and international travel. From January to May 2026, the airport served 903,000 domestic passengers and 369,000 international travellers. May alone recorded 290,000 passengers, a 10% rise over May 2025. International travel surged in May, with 77,000 passengers—a 45% jump from the previous year.
China remained a key destination, with 52,000 passengers flying there, most heading to Beijing. Hainan Airlines expanded its Dalian service to three weekly flights in May. Meanwhile, iFly Airlines launched a new route to Neryungri during the same month.
Yekaterina Sivolobskaya, deputy head of the Vladivostok city administration, credited the growth to the region’s rising popularity as a tourist destination. Vladivostok attracted 2.23 million visitors in 2025, while the broader Primorsky Territory drew nearly 4 million. The airport’s passenger numbers continue to climb, reflecting the region’s increasing appeal. Both new routes and expanded services contributed to the rise. The trend suggests sustained growth for air travel in Vladivostok.
