Krasnodar overhauls public transport with new routes and modern buses
A meeting on passenger transport development took place in Krasnodar, led by Mayor Yevgeny Naumov. City officials and transport leaders gathered to discuss improvements to the public transport system. The event highlighted key priorities for the city’s mobility future. The meeting included First Deputy Mayor Dmitry Vasilyev, Deputy Mayor Vladimir Arkhipov, transport department representatives, and heads of major transport companies. Mayor Naumov stressed that enhancing public transport remains a top priority for Krasnodar.
Krasnodar currently operates 119 public transport routes, covering roughly 4,500 kilometres. Around 1,100 vehicles serve the city daily, handling about 175 million passenger trips each year. About half of the fleet now has air conditioning, with plans to expand this further.
In the first half of 2026, eight municipal bus lines saw route adjustments. Additionally, 47 small buses were replaced with mid-sized vehicles on four routes. Renewing the fleet and expanding networks are central to the city’s strategy for better service. The city aims to ensure comfortable, safe, and affordable travel for residents. Efforts to modernise vehicles and optimise routes are already underway. These changes are expected to improve the daily commute for thousands of passengers.
