Passenger Transport JSC has carried over 500,000 child passengers on its trains so far this year. The company is also expanding its services for young travellers with new offerings and additional routes. The most popular routes for children included Astana–Almaty, Astana–Shymkent, and Almaty–Shymkent. Astana–Semey and Almaty–Semey were also in high demand.
All trains now provide multimedia services with children’s content. Restaurant cars have introduced kid-friendly menus to cater to younger passengers.
Parents can take one child under seven free of charge if the child does not occupy a separate seat. For multiple children under seven, only one travels free, while discounted tickets must be bought for the others. Children aged seven to 15 receive a 50% discount on fares.
Passengers aged 15 and older must purchase an adult ticket. Unaccompanied travel is only allowed with notarised consent from a legal guardian.
Three new commuter trains will begin operating this summer as part of ongoing service improvements. The company continues to enhance its offerings for young passengers. More trains and tailored services are being introduced to meet growing demand. These changes aim to make travel more convenient for families.
