Škoda's Peaq Electric SUV Completes Extreme Global Testing Ahead of 2026 Debut
Skoda has completed extensive global testing for its new flagship electric SUV, Peaq. The vehicle is set to debut as the brand’s premium offering, built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform. Its world premiere will be streamed live on 23 June 2026 at 18:25. The development of Peaq involved rigorous trials across extreme conditions. Test vehicles endured scorching heat in the Arizona desert and freezing temperatures around 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. Engineers focused on real-world performance, including rapid window defrosting and efficient cabin heating for winter use.
Over 1.5 million kilometres were covered across three continents, supported by virtual simulations. The SUV is designed for long-distance comfort, seating up to seven passengers and featuring a high-end Sonos sound system. Its adaptive DCC chassis ensures a balanced and refined driving experience.
Peaq will introduce new technology for Skoda, including wipers with integrated washers. The MEB+ platform provides an electric range exceeding 600 km, thanks to advanced motors and batteries. Peaq marks a significant step for Skoda in the electric vehicle market. The model combines long-range capability with premium features and robust engineering. Its official unveiling will confirm its position as the brand’s new top-tier SUV.
