New Yakutsk-Nizhny Bestyakh ferry route launches after successful trials
A new ferry service connecting Yakutsk and Nizhny Bestyakh began operations on 26 May. The launch follows successful trial runs of the route. Ferries will set off once they reach full capacity. The service will use a total of eight vessels. Six ferries belong to the Ferries of Yakutia alliance. Two additional cargo ferries are provided by the Association of Yakutia’s Municipalities.
Nikolai Yefimov leads the management company Ferries of Yakutia. His team oversaw the trial runs before the official start. The tests confirmed the route’s readiness for regular service. Ferries will now run between the two locations as demand requires. The new route aims to improve transport links in the region. Passengers and cargo will benefit from the expanded service.
