Rail Expansion in Lottstetten: Discussion from 10th to 12th November

Lottstetten–Jestetten rail expansion enters public hearing phase in 2026

The double-track expansion of the railway line between Lottstetten and Jestetten South has moved forward. A public hearing will now take place to discuss the project’s details and gather feedback. The event is scheduled for November 2026 in Lottstetten’s municipal hall. The plans involve upgrading the existing railway line to two tracks and building a new platform in Lottstetten. Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), the project’s sponsor, will join the hearing alongside citizens, local authorities, and expert groups.

The hearing runs from November 10 to 12, 2026, starting each day at 9 a.m. While attendance is not automatically open to the public, access may be allowed if no objections are raised. All submissions and statements made during the sessions will be reviewed.

Planning documents and expert reports are available on the Freiburg Regional Council’s website. Feedback collected during the hearing will shape the project’s final evaluation and decision-making process. The outcomes of the hearing will directly influence the next stages of the rail project. The council will use the input to refine plans before reaching a final decision. All relevant materials remain accessible online for public review.
