Lower Austria's digi4business initiative transforms regional companies with AI and digital tools
The digi4business initiative has highlighted twelve successful digital transformation projects in Lower Austria. Running from May 2025 to May 2026, the programme supports regional companies in adopting new technologies. Funding comes from the State of Lower Austria and the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Several businesses have already benefited from the programme’s support. Hager Bakery now uses AI-driven demand forecasting to streamline production and cut food waste. BTG Spedition und Logistik GmbH has improved efficiency with an AI tool that optimises truck routes.
Other participants include Ferdinand Berger & Söhne, which consolidates large datasets for advanced analytics and AI. BioPower GmbH has enhanced biogas production by using sensors and custom software to analyse raw materials and gas quality.
In July, the public will have the chance to vote for the digi4business Project of the Year. The winner will be announced in September and honoured by Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and Wolfgang Ecker, President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The initiative demonstrates how digital tools can improve efficiency across industries. Companies in the region continue to adopt new technologies with the programme’s backing. The awards ceremony in September will recognise the most impactful project of the year.
