Sochi's Khosta District unveils a fully upgraded 4-km Sukhumi Highway

A 4-kilometre stretch of Sukhumi Highway in Sochi’s Khosta District has undergone a complete overhaul. The upgraded road now serves as a vital alternative to the federal A-147, linking the Khosta and Kudepsta neighbourhoods. The project involved extensive improvements to the highway’s infrastructure. Workers reinforced the roadbed and replaced the asphalt concrete surface. They also eliminated ground subsidence, a persistent issue before the repairs.

New features were added to enhance safety and convenience. Eight bus shelters were installed along the route, alongside pedestrian barriers, sidewalks, and drainage channels. Road signs, curbs, and a modern outdoor lighting system were also introduced.

The total cost of the overhaul reached approximately 230 million rubles. Around 5,500 residents rely on the road daily, with public transport operating regularly along the route. The upgraded highway now offers a safer, more reliable connection between Khosta and Kudepsta. Its improved infrastructure supports daily commuters and strengthens the local transport network.
