RZD Explain Suspension of Ticket Sales for Southern Trains in September

Russian Railways halts ticket sales for southern routes in September

Russian Railways (RZD) has paused ticket sales for some long-distance trains from southern Russia in September. The move comes as part of adjustments to schedules and routes for services departing from 8 September. Passengers have been assured that sales will restart once the updated timetable is confirmed. The suspension affects trains running from resorts on the Black Sea coast and the Caucasian Mineral Waters region. Earlier, RZD’s online system showed no tickets available for certain September departures from southern Russia. The company attributed the pause to essential maintenance work on railway infrastructure.

During the summer season, RZD had introduced 149 pairs of trains to serve these popular destinations. These included 65 pairs to Adler, 43 pairs to Anapa, and 24 pairs to Novorossiysk. Travellers can stay informed about ticket availability by turning on alerts in the RZD Passenger mobile app. RZD has apologised to passengers for any disruption caused by the changes. Ticket sales will resume once the revised timetable is complete. The adjustments are expected to ensure smoother operations following the maintenance work.
