Due to work on switches: Tram lines are being rerouted

Major tram diversions in Braunschweig as 'Schloss' stop closes for upgrades

BSVG will renew the track switches at the 'Schloss' light rail stop from 2 July to 12 August 2023. Several tram lines will be diverted during this period, and some stops will remain closed. Passengers are advised to check updated timetables for their journeys. The 'Schloss' stop will be out of service for the entire construction period. Lines 1 and 2 will instead run between 'Hauptbahnhof' and 'Rathaus' via Georg-Eckert-Straße. They will not call at 'Campestraße' or 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz' during the works.

Lines 3 and 5 will use a temporary stop at Waisenhausdamm. Line 3 will divert via 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz', 'Campestraße', and 'Hauptbahnhof/Viewegs Garten' before returning to 'Rathaus'. Line 5 will follow a similar route but terminate at 'Hauptbahnhof'.

No replacement buses will operate. However, bus lines 445 and 465 will have adjusted schedules to maintain connections at the 'Donauknoten' hub. Updated timetables and diversion details are available in the electronic journey planner. The work will last until 12 August 2023. Tram services will resume normal routes once the track switches are renewed. Passengers should plan ahead using the provided journey planner to avoid disruptions.
