Dubai Metro's Blue and Gold Lines to Transform City Connectivity by 2030
Dubai’s rail network is set to grow with the addition of the Dubai Metro Blue Line and the planned Gold Line. These new routes aim to improve connectivity across the city and link key areas with major transport hubs. The Blue Line will feature 14 stations split across two branches. One branch, the Centrepoint side, will include four stations, merging at International City 1. The other, the Creek side, will have ten stations, including Dubai Creek Harbour, which will host the world’s tallest metro station at 74 metres.
International City 1 station will become the largest underground interchange in the network. It will span over 44,000 square metres and handle up to 350,000 passengers daily. The line will connect eastern and northern Dubai, offering residents a 20-minute journey to Dubai International Airport.
The Gold Line will run from Al Ghubaiba to Jumeirah Golf Estates, serving 18 stations across 15 strategic areas. These include Bur Dubai, Dubai Maritime City, City Walk, and Jumeirah. The route will integrate with existing and future rail networks through major interchange points.
This line is expected to benefit around 1.5 million residents. It will also support connectivity for 55 major real estate developments. The Blue Line and Gold Line will expand Dubai’s metro system significantly. They will link residential, commercial, and transport hubs, reducing travel times for many. Both lines are designed to accommodate high passenger volumes and improve access across the city.
