Zoox Unveils Updated Robotaxi Ahead of Series Production in California

Zoox unveils sleeker robotaxi with rider-inspired upgrades for mass production

Zoox has revealed an updated version of its custom-built robotaxi. The new model features several improvements based on rider feedback and testing in Las Vegas and San Francisco. It marks the company’s move toward series production in Hayward, California. The latest robotaxi retains its distinctive design without traditional driving controls. Four passengers can sit face-to-face inside the vehicle. The interior now has a lighter, more minimalist look with monochrome aloe-green seats and stone-grey flooring.

Comfort has been boosted with extra seat padding and redesigned ergonomic headrests. The touchscreen display is brighter and more vivid for easier use. A new speaker and microphone at the door interface improve communication between passengers and the vehicle.

On the outside, the bidirectional reflectors have been repositioned to make the front and rear more distinguishable. Zoox aims to produce up to 100 robotaxis per week, reaching around 5,000 vehicles annually. The updated robotaxi is Zoox’s production-intent vehicle. It will enter series production soon at the company’s facility in Hayward. The changes reflect direct input from riders and extensive testing in real-world conditions.
