Arzamas cracks down on fare dodgers with steep fines and inspectors
Arzamas is tightening its public transport rules with new fare inspectors and fines. Passengers using someone else’s discounted card will face a 2,000 ruble penalty. Riding without a ticket will cost 1,000 rubles. Fare inspectors have started working on Arzamas public transport. They will issue reports for administrative offences, including fare evasion and misuse of discounted cards.
Currently, 15 buses in the city have fixed fare payment terminals. By the end of July, another 10 buses will receive them. Arzamas Passenger Auto Transport plans to keep installing these terminals in the future. The new measures aim to enforce fare compliance on buses. Inspectors will monitor ticket use and issue fines where necessary. More payment terminals will be added to improve the system.
