New Vityazevo interchange eases traffic on Novorossiysk–Kerch highway
A new highway interchange near Vityazevo has opened to traffic. It forms part of the wider reconstruction of the federal A-290 Novorossiysk–Kerch route. The early opening aims to benefit both residents and tourists during the busy season. The interchange connects to the Anapa bypass, which was completed in 2022. It features eight exits, stormwater drainage, and safety barriers. Workers are still installing lighting and noise barriers at the site.
The structure is designed to improve traffic flow towards key destinations. These include the Crimean Bridge, Anapa, the resort area, and the airport. The full stretch from the 52nd to the 73rd kilometre of the route is set to finish by the end of the year.
A four-lane highway is also planned from Novorossiysk to the Crimean Bridge. This will bypass major populated areas, reducing congestion on the existing network. The interchange is now in use, though some finishing work remains. Once complete, it will support smoother travel along a vital transport corridor. The project aligns with ongoing efforts to upgrade the A-290 route.
