Khabarovsk launches 1B-ruble road upgrades for safer urban mobility
Khabarovsk is set to begin major road and infrastructure upgrades across several streets. The city has secured over 1 billion rubles under the Infrastructure for Life national project to fund these improvements. Work will focus on enhancing safety and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Sheronova Street will undergo significant changes. Asphalt will be resurfaced, and tram tracks will be replaced with new ones using reinforced concrete ties. The street will also feature wider sidewalks, safe pedestrian crossings, and dedicated bike lanes. After this initial phase, the city plans to tackle neglected areas and garages along the route.
Other streets scheduled for repairs include Seryshev Street, Zaparin Street, Vystavochnaya Street, and Moskvitin Boulevard. Additionally, reconstruction is planned for the final section of 60th Anniversary of October Prospect, from Garazhny Lane to Bolshaya Street. Work is also underway to upgrade the interchange at 65th Anniversary of Victory Street and 60th Anniversary of October Prospect.
The mayor of Khabarovsk has ordered an accelerated timeline to complete all work by early September. The upgrades are part of the city’s broader efforts under the Infrastructure for Life program. The improvements will address road quality, pedestrian safety, and urban mobility. All projects are expected to be finished ahead of the autumn season.
