Kazakhstan's KAZ06 highway to close partially for urgent reconstruction

A section of the KAZ06 national highway in Aktobe Region will soon face temporary traffic restrictions. The closure affects the stretch between kilometers 763 and 773, running from the Russian border toward Shymkent. The restrictions begin at 5:00 p.m. on June 27, 2026. The right lane heading toward Khromtau will be closed for reconstruction work. To manage the flow, traffic will be rerouted to the oncoming lane, leaving one lane open in each direction.

Authorities have urged drivers to follow temporary road signs carefully. They must also reduce speed and remain alert while passing through the affected area. The measures aim to ensure safety and efficiency during the roadworks. Drivers should plan their journeys accordingly and adhere to the new traffic arrangements. The restrictions will remain in place until the reconstruction is complete.
