BBVA's AI revolution cuts model development time by 75% with AWS
BBVA has unveiled a new MLOps architecture developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The system was presented at the AWS Madrid Summit as a key example of secure and scalable AI innovation. It forms part of BBVA’s global cloud-based data and AI platform, ADA. The architecture integrates AWS into BBVA’s existing infrastructure. It uses Amazon SageMaker to build, train, deploy, and manage AI models. Automated governance ensures traceability, security, and compliance with financial regulations.
Ephemeral development environments allow teams to work in parallel without disruption. Operational tasks and validation processes are automated, streamlining the development, testing, and deployment of AI solutions. This has cut model development times by up to 75% in areas like personalised customer recommendations and financial forecasting.
Over 6,500 users, including 1,000 data scientists, now benefit from faster AI deployment. The joint project with AWS is also featured in the report Unlocking the Potential of AI in Spain as a model of enterprise AI transformation. The MLOps architecture enables BBVA to scale AI efficiently and securely. It supports thousands of users in developing and deploying AI solutions more rapidly. The system has already demonstrated significant time savings and improved operational agility.
