Amur Book Shores Honors Rare Literary and Historical Works in 2025 Fair

The 15th International Book Fair and Exhibition Amur Book Shores took place in Blagoveshchensk from June 19 to 21. Over 70 authors attended the event, showcasing more than 140 publications to the jury. Several works received recognition for their cultural and historical contributions. Among the honoured projects was the bibliographic index Man of the Long Spring. It marks the first guide to Yuri Rytkheu’s works in over 65 years. The index was prepared by the Magadan Regional Youth Library and published by Kordis Publishing House in St. Petersburg. It earned a second-degree diploma in the Dialogue of Cultures category.

Another awarded title was Across the Islands and Shores of the Sea of Okhotsk by Georgiy Dulkeit. The book explores the region’s economic history from 1924 to 1928, covering factories, trade with Japan, and local industrialists. It also features photographs of the coastline, Kamchatka, wildlife, and archival images from Alexander Smyshlyaev. The work received a third-degree diploma in the Fascinating Local History category.

The bibliographic index was a joint effort. The Magadan Regional Cultural Workers’ Public Organization, the Pushkin Library, and Okhotnik Publishing House collaborated on its production. The fair highlighted significant literary and historical works. The awarded books provide detailed insights into regional culture and history. Their recognition underscores the event’s role in promoting scholarly and creative achievements.
