Deutsche Bahn completes major upgrades on Hamburg-Berlin rail stations

Deutsche Bahn has finished modernising 28 stations along the Hamburg-Berlin rail route. The upgrades include new platforms, seating, lighting, and displays. Some final work, however, remains unfinished at a few locations. The project covered stations such as Albrechtshof, Seegefeld, Falkensee, Nauen, Wittenberge, and Ludwigslust. Each received refurbished platforms, energy-efficient LED lighting, and clearer wayfinding systems. Comfortable seating and updated departure displays were also installed.

Twenty stations now have advanced video surveillance to improve security. Smaller stations received integrated cameras within their departure displays, using simplified power and networking technology. Nationwide, Deutsche Bahn already operates around 11,000 cameras across its network.

DB InfraGO will carry out final test runs on the route until the end of June. These may cause minor delays. Additionally, elevators at several stations, including Müssen, Nauen, Falkensee, and Albrechtshof, are still not working. The company is working to finish these tasks as soon as possible. The modernisation brings improved facilities and security to the Hamburg-Berlin corridor. Passengers will benefit from better amenities and clearer information. The remaining work is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
