Emirates SkyCargo boosts Asia freighter flights amid rising cargo demand

Emirates SkyCargo is expanding its freighter operations across East and Southeast Asia. The move comes as demand for air cargo in the region continues to rise. The carrier is increasing services to key destinations and showcasing its capabilities at a major industry event. The airline has doubled its weekly freighter flights to Tokyo’s Narita Airport. It has also doubled services to Taipei to meet growing demand for high-tech electronics shipments.

Hong Kong remains a major hub, with 37 weekly freighter flights. Zhengzhou now receives three weekly flights, while Hanoi continues to be served by four. Additionally, the carrier has resumed weekly freighter services from Singapore to Dubai via Mumbai.

Beyond freighters, Emirates SkyCargo offers cargo capacity on over 320 weekly passenger flights across the region. In the past financial year, it transported over 439,000 tonnes of cargo from 12 markets in the region. This marks a 5 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The carrier will exhibit at Air Cargo China 2026 in Shanghai from 24 to 26 June. The expansion strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s presence in East and Southeast Asia. Increased flights to Tokyo, Taipei, and other cities support rising cargo demand. The carrier’s growth reflects its commitment to serving key trade routes in the region.
