RMV not raising ticket prices for the New Year

RMV overhauls fare system with simpler pricing by summer 2027

RMV has announced changes to its fare system starting in summer 2027. The update will simplify the current structure, which includes over 100 different ticket types and prices. The new system will build on the existing Germany Ticket model. The reforms will reduce the number of fare zones and streamline the range of seasonal passes. Despite these adjustments, prices for single and day tickets will stay the same. Popular options like the Hesse Student Ticket, Hesse Senior Ticket, and RMV KombiTicket will remain available.

The RMV Savings Pass will also continue under the new structure. Unlike previous years, the transport authority will not raise ticket prices on January 1, 2023. Past increases, including a 4.75% rise at the last turn of the year, will not be repeated this time. The new fare structure aims to make travel simpler for passengers. It will introduce a more straightforward system while keeping key ticket options intact. The changes will take full effect in summer 2027.
