Yakutia Railways reports record growth in 2025 with expanded routes and profits

Yakutia Railways has reported strong growth in passenger and freight transport for 2025. The company exceeded its targets, with passenger numbers and revenue both rising significantly. Performance improvements have been linked to expanded routes and regional demand. The railway transported 464,900 passengers last year, a 6.3% increase above its planned figure. Passenger turnover hit 476.5 million passenger-kilometres, surpassing the target by 14.3%. Metrics have steadily improved since the launch of services to Nizhny Bestyakh station.

The company also enhanced safety by adding extra screening checkpoints for river transport boarding. A reduction in the Lena River crossing distance lowered summer transfer costs for train passengers to 800 rubles. Freight operations saw 7.6 million tons of cargo moved, with freight turnover reaching 2.153 billion ton-kilometres.

Total revenue across all operations climbed to 13.4 billion rubles, yielding a net profit of 799 million rubles. The company is now advancing a major long-term project: restoring the Skovorodino–Reinovo line as part of the first phase of the Dzhalinda–Mohe international transport corridor to China. A mixed border crossing in Dzhalinda is set to open early next year. Yakutia Railways has achieved higher passenger and freight volumes while increasing profitability. The planned border crossing and transport corridor developments aim to further boost connectivity and trade. These projects are expected to support continued growth in the region.
