teilAuto Expands cityflitzer to Ease Rail Disruptions Between Halle and Leipzig
teilAuto is expanding its cityflitzer service to help commuters during upcoming rail disruptions. The S-Bahn between Halle and Leipzig will be out of service from 2 July to 1 October 2026. Around 10,000 people travel this route daily. The cityflitzer hub in Halle is located at Rudolf-Ernst-Weise-Straße 28, near Halle Central Station. It has 16 marked parking spots for shared vehicles. Passengers can now take one-way trips between Leipzig and Halle, starting or ending at this hub.
The service offers an alternative for commuters affected by the rail closure. Trips from Leipzig to Halle finish at the hub, while trips from Halle to Leipzig begin there. Each one-way journey costs an extra €6, making the total around €24 per trip.
teilAuto describes cityflitzer as a flexible addition to replacement transport. It aims to assist travellers during off-peak hours or difficult connections. The expansion provides a practical option for daily commuters between the two cities. The hub’s location and one-way trips are designed to ease travel during the disruption. The service will run throughout the closure period.
