Sharjah overhauls two major roundabouts to ease traffic congestion

Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) will introduce temporary traffic diversions at two key roundabouts from Sunday. The changes affect Imran Bin Taryam and Ahmed Bin Hadid intersections, which serve multiple residential and commercial areas. The SRTA is transforming the roundabouts into signal-controlled intersections. This move aims to boost road capacity and streamline traffic movement. Both locations link several districts, including Al Yash, Al Falah, Al Rifa'ah, Al Muraqqabat, Al Fouz, and Al Sweihat.

Temporary routes will guide drivers around the construction zones. The project seeks to cut travel times, reduce congestion, and improve safety for the growing number of vehicles using these roads. The new signal systems are expected to handle higher traffic volumes more efficiently. Motorists will follow alternative arrangements until the work is complete. The SRTA has confirmed the diversions will remain in place for the duration of the project.
