Bhopal Metro pauses services ahead of critical safety inspection
Bhopal Metro has temporarily halted its train services to prepare for a key safety inspection. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) team arrived in the city on Wednesday evening to assess the signalling system. Operations on the Bhopal Metro line were suspended on Wednesday. This pause allowed officials to ready the system for the CMRS review. The team, led by Neelbhrasen Gupta, held initial discussions with metro staff about the signalling setup and its readiness.
A full inspection of the signalling system will take place on Thursday. Currently, only one metro train runs in manual mode on the line. Once the CMRS team grants clearance, expected in early next month, multiple trains will begin operating. The clearance will allow Bhopal Metro to expand its services. Multiple trains will then run on the line for the first time. The inspection marks a critical step before normal operations resume.
