Salzgitter-Bad's Old Town Festival alters bus routes and stops for 2026

KVG has announced changes to bus services for the 48th Old Town Festival in Salzgitter-Bad. The event will bring road closures and rerouted buses from Thursday, June 25 to Monday, June 29, 2026. Kaiserstraße and Bohlweg will be closed to traffic during the festival. As a result, stops at 'Kaiserstraße,' 'Bohlweg,' 'Gittertor,' and 'Bismarckstraße' will not be served. Passengers for 'Kaiserstraße' are advised to use the 'Bahnhof' stop instead.

Routes 612, 613, 618, and 628 will follow adjusted paths to avoid the closed roads. Routes 603, 611, and 631 will also be diverted, with 'Bismarckstraße' serving as a temporary stop for some services. Additional shuttle buses will operate on routes 612 and 613 to handle increased demand.

Route 612 will include extra late-night trips on Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday. Updated schedules for the festival period are available online, at the KVG Mobility Center, and on KVG buses. The adjustments aim to maintain transport links during the festival. Detailed timetables and alternative stop information can be accessed through KVG’s official channels. The changes will remain in effect until the event concludes on June 29.
