New night bus service connects Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar this summer
A special night bus service between Velez-Malaga and Torre del Mar will launch on 1 July. The service aims to help residents and visitors travel safely between the two locations during the busy summer months. Councillor Celestino Rivas announced the plans on 26 June to meet rising demand during peak holiday weeks. The night buses will run every evening from 22:30 until 02:30 the following morning. Four departures will leave Velez-Malaga each night at 22:30, 23:30, 00:30 and 02:00. Return trips from Torre del Mar are scheduled for 23:00, 00:00, 01:00 and 02:30.
The council designed the timetable to cover key residential areas and manage passenger numbers during the busiest times. The last buses will operate until 02:30 each night under the new summer schedule. The service is part of broader efforts to maintain mobility standards when visitor numbers peak. The new service will run until 31 August. It provides a practical travel option for those moving between Velez-Malaga and Torre del Mar without driving after dark. The council hopes it will support the local economy by encouraging participation in summer activities across the municipality.
