Almaty's Tole Bi Street faces week-long traffic changes for light rail upgrades

Traffic on Tole Bi Street in Almaty will see temporary changes from June 20. The adjustments are needed for utility relocations tied to the light rail transit project. Drivers should prepare for altered routes and new signage. Starting at 10:00 PM on June 20, eastbound traffic between Sain Street and Otar Street will face partial restrictions. A reversible lane system will operate on the north side of Tole Bi Street to keep access open. The utility work is set to last until June 25.

From June 25 to 30, similar operations will shift to the south side of the street. Reversible lanes will again be in place during this period. Authorities urge drivers to plan ahead and follow all temporary road signs. The changes will affect travel on Tole Bi Street for over a week. The reversible lane systems aim to minimise disruption while work continues. Drivers must stay alert to avoid delays and ensure safety.
