DART Expands Affordable Transit with New Warminster Route This Fall

The Doylestown Area Regional Transit (DART) is expanding its services with a new route in Warminster Township this autumn. The addition aims to provide safe, reliable, and affordable public transport to more residents in Bucks County. State and local officials have long pushed for the change to improve access for vulnerable groups. The DART program first launched in 2010 to make public transport in the Doylestown area more accessible and affordable. It currently operates shuttles serving Doylestown, West, South, and the Bucks County Courthouse.

State Rep. Brian Munroe, who represents Warminster, has campaigned for the expansion for several years. His efforts have now secured a new route for the township. The service will cost riders just one dollar per trip, with free travel for those aged over 65.

Jim Raymond, CEO of Bucks County Transport, believes the route will have a wide-reaching effect. He expects it to help seniors, workers, and disabled residents reach jobs, medical appointments, shopping, and other essential services. State Rep. Tim Brennan has also voiced his support, emphasising the importance of reliable transport for people of all ages. The new Warminster route will begin operations in the coming months. It will offer an affordable and accessible travel option for the community. Officials hope the expansion will address long-standing transportation gaps in the area.
