XRP Ledger and VS1 Finance Launch Open-Source Lending Framework for Institutions
The XRP Ledger Foundation and VS1 Finance have announced a joint project to build an open-source lending reference application. The initiative aims to provide institutions with a ready-to-use framework for compliant capital deployment on the XRP Ledger. The new application will integrate native XRP Ledger features designed for regulated financial activity. These include Credentials, Permissioned Domains, Single Asset Vaults, and a Lending Protocol, all combined into a single institutional framework.
The framework is tailored for permissioned lending environments where participants must meet compliance requirements before accessing financial services. Developers will have the freedom to study, fork, and extend the reference application to suit their own regulated lending use cases.
The partners plan to release the application as open-source software. This will allow development teams to modify or expand the codebase for different lending products while maintaining compliance standards. The collaboration comes at a time when blockchain networks are increasingly focusing on compliance-focused infrastructure for financial institutions. The open-source reference application is expected to accelerate the adoption of regulated lending solutions on the XRP Ledger.
