Employees of the Okhotsk Territorial Administration of Russia’s Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo) recently organised a cleanup along the Magadanka River. The event formed part of the nationwide 'Clean Rivers, Clean Shores' campaign. Volunteers worked to remove waste from the riverbank and surrounding recreational area. The volunteer team focused on clearing household and industrial rubbish from the riverbank and nearby spaces. Large amounts of garbage were collected during the effort. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about environmental protection and safeguard the region’s ecology.
The campaign also sought to ensure the health of local residents by maintaining a clean waterway. Organisers highlighted the importance of such actions for the future of the area and the country’s wider ecological balance. The cleanup successfully removed significant waste from the Magadanka River and its recreational zones. The event contributed to a cleaner environment and reinforced the message of ecological responsibility. Local communities now benefit from a healthier riverbank and improved surroundings.
