Kazakhstan unveils three modernized train stations to boost regional connectivity
Three newly renovated train stations have opened in Taiynsha, Zhanakorgan, and Shieli. The upgrades are part of a national effort to modernise railway infrastructure across Kazakhstan. North Kazakhstan has completed its railway station modernisation program with the opening of Taiynsha station. The facility has been expanded from 375 to 580 square metres, featuring a refreshed façade, renovated interiors, and improved accessibility.
In Kyzylorda region, Zhanakorgan and Shieli stations have also reopened after renovations. Their upgrades include updated façades, modernised interiors, and barrier-free access. The opening ceremony was attended by regional governor Murat Yergeshbayev and Deputy Transport Minister Zhanibek Taizhanov.
The renovations aim to improve comfort for passengers and enhance the reliability of logistics routes. These routes connect southern and western Kazakhstan with international transport corridors. The projects form part of a state program to modernise 124 stations nationwide, initiated by the head of state. Deputy Transport Minister Zhanibek Taizhanov stated that the upgrades will support regional economic and tourism development.
