Base network suffers two-hour outage after block production failure
Base experienced a mainnet outage that disrupted its network for about two hours. The issue began when block production became unstable, causing delays in transactions, deposits, and withdrawals. Users were unable to complete activities across apps and infrastructure during this period. The Base team first detected problems at 16:03 UTC. A faulty block prevented normal sequencing, halting new block production and interrupting network services. This was not an isolated incident, as a similar disruption had occurred in August 2025.
Later, Base confirmed that sequencing of new blocks had resumed. Internal nodes began syncing correctly, and block production returned to normal. Throughout the outage, the team assured users that all funds remained secure. The network recovered after roughly two hours of downtime. Base stated it would keep monitoring stability and investigating the root cause. Transaction processing, deposits, and withdrawals gradually resumed as the system stabilised.
