Khabarovsk's historic boulevards get a modern upgrade this autumn

Major reconstruction work has begun on two key boulevards in Khabarovsk. Crews are removing old cobblestones and hazardous trees to improve pedestrian routes and infrastructure. The city aims to modernise the area while preserving its main paths and greenery. Work on Amursky Boulevard has already started. Crews are dismantling old cobblestones along the stretch from the railway station to Dikopoltsev Street. The area is closed to pedestrians for now, but tram services continue as usual. Plans also include relocating the tram stop near the station and repairing the tracks.

Ussuriysky Boulevard is also undergoing changes. Between Pushkin and Sheronov Streets, old cobblestones are being replaced, and hazardous trees are being removed. City officials have promised to keep existing greenery and plant new saplings where possible.

By autumn, new cobblestones and paved bike lanes will appear on both boulevards. New benches, trash bins, streetlights, and surveillance cameras will also be installed. The Ussuriysky Boulevard project is set to finish by 30 September 2026. The reconstruction will bring updated surfaces, safer paths, and new amenities to both boulevards. Pedestrian access will remain available on main routes during the work. Tram operations will stay unaffected throughout the upgrades.
