Etihad Airways launches record summer expansion with new routes and destinations
Etihad Airways has announced its largest summer programme to date. The airline is expanding its network with new routes and reinstated seasonal destinations. Strong demand and fleet growth are driving the rapid expansion. Between 11 and 14 June, Etihad launched four new routes from Abu Dhabi. These connect the capital to Krakow, Palma de Mallorca, Damascus, and Zanzibar. The airline has also brought back five popular seasonal destinations: Mykonos, Malaga, Santorini, Nice, and Al Alamein.
The summer capacity has grown by 10% compared to last year. This increase comes with the addition of 23 new aircraft to the fleet. The airline is now operating over 300 daily flights, meeting high demand with load factors near 90%.
In partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, Etihad is offering free medical travel insurance. Eligible passengers flying to Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights from July to December 2026 will receive up to 15 days of medical cover. This includes travellers using the airline’s stopover programme. The airline’s chief executive, Antonoaldo Neves, confirmed the expansion reflects record demand and fleet growth. The summer schedule marks the busiest period in Etihad’s history. More flights and destinations are now available than ever before.
