Russia's container industry unites to set new logistics standards

The National Association of Container Depot Operators (NACDO) has joined Technical Committee 246 (TC 246) to help shape standards for Russia’s container operations. TC 246 develops national standards for containers and currently oversees 45 documents within the country’s standardization system. NACDO unites leading container terminal and warehouse operators across Russia. Its goals include expanding container infrastructure, improving warehousing service quality, and refining regulations for transport and storage. The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommended NACDO’s participation in the committee to strengthen standardization efforts.

The association’s inclusion follows collaboration with the Federation Council, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Rosstandart. These partnerships aim to enhance warehouse storage and logistics standards. Artem Zamaraev, NACDO’s chairman, stated that joining TC 246 enables better representation of industry interests in government regulation. NACDO will now contribute to drafting and updating national standards for container depot operations. Its involvement is expected to bring industry expertise to the development of Russia’s container-related regulations. TC 246 will continue its work with an expanded group of stakeholders.
