Omsk's weekend train to Syropyatskoye faces uncertain future after registry snub

A popular train route in Omsk may soon disappear from official records. The Omsk–Syropyatskoye service, launched last year, is missing from the regional transport ministry’s latest plans. This has raised questions about its future. The electric train to Syropyatskoye station began operating in 2024. It runs on Saturdays from late April to late September. The route remains in the 2026 registry, but the updated list for 2027–2029 no longer includes it.

The new registry covers 13 other routes, matching the current network. Omsk authorities have also moved water transport into a separate registry. The omission of the Omsk–Syropyatskoye line is the only change in the train listings. The route’s absence from the 2027–2029 plans suggests it may be discontinued. Passengers who use the Saturday service could lose their only direct option. Officials have yet to confirm whether the train will return next season.
