Astana’s Prosecutor’s Office has launched preventive measures to tackle urban maintenance and sanitation violations. The initiative is part of the Law and Order campaign and the Clean Kazakhstan program. Authorities aim to enforce legal standards and promote environmental responsibility across the city. During recent raid operations, over 170 offenders were held administratively liable in just one day. They faced penalties for polluting public spaces, violating urban maintenance rules, and setting up illegal dumping grounds. Offenders now risk fines and the confiscation of their vehicle license plates until payments are made.
In Nura District, drones and CSC cameras helped identify two drivers of specialised vehicles. They were caught illegally dumping construction waste and were subsequently detained. These actions highlight the use of modern technology in enforcing compliance with urban cleanliness laws.
Violations such as damaging infrastructure, polluting public areas, or breaching maintenance regulations are considered illegal under Kazakh law. The Prosecutor’s Office has emphasized that administrative liability applies to all such offences. The Prosecutor’s Office has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining urban cleanliness. Residents and visitors are urged to follow legal requirements and treat the environment with care. These efforts are intended to support the Clean Kazakhstan program and ensure a comfortable urban environment for all.
