Reconstruction has begun at the intersection of Yaroslavsky and Khabarov Streets. Asphalt paving started on Saturday as part of a major upgrade. The project forms part of this year’s Infrastructure for Life initiative. The intersection of Yaroslavsky, Khabarov, and Yefimov Streets is being rebuilt with a new layout. The current T-shape will change to an X-shape, and the road axis will be shifted. The work is being carried out by RIK-Avtodor, with the total cost exceeding 830 million rubles.
Earlier, the contractor left construction materials on the future sidewalks and roadway. It also failed to provide pedestrian walkways. The municipal client confirmed that these violations were quickly fixed.
The project is set for full completion by the end of this year. RIK-Avtodor holds additional contracts, including the overhaul of 50 Years of the Soviet Army Street, budgeted at over 1 billion rubles. The intersection redesign is on track for completion in 2024. The changes will alter traffic flow and improve pedestrian access. The contractor’s other work in the area remains ongoing under separate agreements.
