Burabay National Park struggles with record visitor traffic this season
Burabay National Park has seen a sharp rise in visitors this season. The increase in traffic has led to long queues at the second checkpoint in Burabay. Park officials are now urging drivers to use alternative routes to ease congestion. The park features four main checkpoints to manage the flow of vehicles. The first one connects to the Astana–Kokshetau highway, serving those travelling to the capital or northward. The third checkpoint passes through the Shchuchinsk Resort area, helping spread traffic within the recreational zone.
A fourth checkpoint is reachable via the Baldauren Children’s Center, offering another way to avoid the main exit. The surge in cars stems from Burabay’s growing popularity as a tourist spot, not from any system faults or restrictions. Park authorities recommend these alternative routes to reduce waiting times. They also remind visitors to help protect the park’s ecological balance. Using different exits cuts travel delays and eases pressure on the park’s roads and facilities.
