Almaty expands bus routes to Amangeldi and Koktobe for smoother travel

Almaty has updated two of its bus routes to improve transport links across the city. Route No. 243 now extends to the Amangeldi settlement, while Route No. 225 has a new terminal stop at Koktobe village. These changes follow a series of adjustments to local services over the past two years.

Route No. 243 has been extended to connect the Amangeldi settlement directly with the city centre. This change aims to give residents faster and more convenient access to key locations.

Route No. 225 now ends at Koktobe village, offering passengers better reach to popular destinations in Almaty. The updated route covers more areas, making travel easier for daily commuters and visitors. These updates follow wider changes to Almaty's bus network. Over the last two years, at least seven routes—including No. 84A, 241, 19, 56, 16, 48, and 224—were altered due to urban development. Reconstructions, road repairs, and major events like the Nauryz celebrations in March 2026 all played a part in reshaping the network. City authorities have advised passengers to check the latest route maps before travelling. The updates are designed to reduce delays and improve overall service efficiency.

The new adjustments to Routes 243 and 225 expand transport options for Almaty's residents. With clearer links to the city centre and Koktobe village, passengers can expect more direct journeys. Further updates may follow as urban projects continue to develop.
