Almaty launches new bus route linking hospitals to Kok-Tobe tourist hub

Almaty has introduced a new bus route to improve public transport links across the city. Route No. 130 launched on April 4, connecting City Clinical Hospital No. 7 in Kalkaman with the popular Kok-Tobe area. The service is operated by AlmatyElectroTrans LLP and runs daily from early morning until late evening. The 21.5-kilometre route follows key roads, including Raimbek Batyr Avenue, Seifullin Avenue, Dostyk Avenue, and Bukhar Zhyrau Boulevard. Fifteen low-floor Yutong buses serve the line, each capable of carrying up to 80 passengers. Buses arrive every nine minutes, ensuring frequent service throughout the day.

Route No. 130 operates from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., catering to early commuters and late-night travellers. The route covers both busy urban centres and residential neighbourhoods, offering a direct link between medical facilities and a major tourist destination.

The new service marks the first expansion of Almaty's bus network in recent months. With a fleet of modern buses and a wide-reaching route, it aims to provide reliable transport for residents and visitors alike. No similar route launches have been reported in other Kazakh cities over the past year.
