Astana officially ends heating season as spring temperatures rise

Heating to Be Switched Off in Kazakh Cities as Warm Weather Arrives

Astana's city administration has announced when the heating season will end in the capital, according to our correspondent.

Authorities explained that the decision to turn off heating is made once stable warming begins.

"When the average daily outdoor temperature reaches +10°C or higher for five consecutive days, the heating season is declared over," the administration stated.

Meteorologists forecast a gradual warming trend in Astana in early April. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach +13…+15°C on April 1, climbing to +16…+20°C on April 2–3.

From April 4 to 8, daytime highs will remain between +16…+20°C, though forecasters warn of wind and precipitation—including rain, fog, and gusts up to 15–20 meters per second.

Toward the end of the period, on April 9–10, temperatures will dip slightly to +13…+17°C, with scattered showers and possible snow in some areas.
