Astana's Economic Investigators Train Utility Workers on Fraud Prevention

Officers from Astana’s Department of Economic Investigations recently met with employees of the utility provider Astana Su Arnasy. The session aimed to improve financial and digital literacy among the workforce. A total of 72 employees attended the outreach event. Department representatives discussed common financial scams, online fraud tactics, and cybercrimes targeting personal data and bank accounts.

They highlighted the deceptive methods fraudsters use to manipulate victims. Employees also received practical advice on protecting their information and responding to suspicious activity. Agency representatives addressed questions from the audience and handed out informational brochures for further guidance. The meeting provided staff with tools to recognise and avoid modern fraud schemes. It also strengthened their ability to secure personal and financial information against cyber threats.
