Astana's Light Rail Transit System Nears Launch with New Signs Installed
Astana’s new light rail transit (LRT) system is taking shape as navigational signs appear across its stations. The installations mark a key step before the network officially opens to the public. Workers have begun placing signs at LRT stops to help passengers find their way. One of the first, a navigational pillar, now stands at Syganak station. Nearby, in the Abu Dhabi Plaza area, a sign reading 'Bayterek' has also been installed.
The LRT route will span 18 stations in total. These will link major business centres with residential neighbourhoods, improving transport connections across the city. Officials describe the sign installations as part of the final preparations before the system’s launch.
The new signs will guide commuters once the LRT becomes operational. With 18 stations planned, the network aims to streamline travel between key areas of Astana. Further updates on the launch timeline are expected soon.
