A new traffic signal has been introduced for drivers.
In late March, experimental traffic lights were installed on the capital's roads. Following a successful trial period in Minsk, the same system has now been deployed in Mogilev, according to the press service of the Mogilev regional police.
The new device has been activated at the intersection of 30 Let Pobedy Street and Grishina Street in Mogilev.
In addition to the standard three-color signals, the traffic light now features a new indicator designed to help prevent the most tragic accidents.
Many drivers are already familiar with this supplementary signal, which was previously installed as an informational panel beneath traffic lights. Now, the white-lunar pedestrian warning for turns has replaced the yellow light in the sequence.
The innovation is expected to reduce accidents and improve road safety.
