Berezovsky invests 47M rubles to overhaul its struggling bus network

Berezovsky Municipal District is set to enhance its public transport network with a 47-million-ruble investment. The funds will cover 13 urban and municipal bus routes, aiming to address long-standing issues with service reliability. Two transport companies will be chosen through a tender process to operate the expanded system.

The project divides the routes into two separate contracts. The first covers eight municipal lines, with a maximum cost of 24.4 million rubles. The second includes five additional routes, budgeted at 22.5 million rubles. Both contracts will introduce new trips and extend existing schedules to better serve residents.

Local carriers have previously struggled to maintain these routes, often finding them unprofitable. In response, authorities plan to increase oversight of the selected operators. The changes are designed to ensure more consistent and accessible transport options.

Once the contracts are finalised, the district expects smoother operations and fewer service gaps. The expanded network will include routes tailored to areas with high demand, reducing wait times for passengers.

The new contracts will bring 13 improved bus routes to Berezovsky. Residents can expect more frequent services and better coverage across the district. Officials believe the 47-million-ruble plan will resolve past issues with unprofitable and unreliable transport.
