Berlin Airport Expands Summer Flights with New Transatlantic Routes
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is expanding its summer flight schedule with new routes and increased connections. Several airlines will launch or resume services to North America and Europe between April and July. The changes come as the airport prepares for a busy season with 155 destinations across 55 countries. From early May, Air Transat will restart its Berlin-Toronto route, operating three times a week. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines will also introduce direct flights to New York, beginning in April and May respectively. These additions follow ongoing efforts by Berlin's state government to boost long-haul connections at BER.
In July, Air Canada will launch a new nonstop service between Berlin and Montréal, with at least three weekly flights. The summer schedule, running until October 24, includes popular destinations like Mallorca, Antalya, Paris, Vienna, and Zurich.
Meanwhile, Emirates has cut numerous flights via Dubai due to regional conflicts involving Iran. The federal government is now considering allocating an extra slot for Emirates at BER, though Lufthansa has opposed the proposal. No final decision has yet been made. The expanded summer schedule reflects BER's growing role as an international hub. With new transatlantic routes and resumed services, passengers will have more options for travel. The airport's network now covers 155 destinations, reinforcing its position in global air traffic.
